CREwing the GPT100

GPT100 is a great race to access a lot of Aid Stations along the route. Driving around is generally pretty easy and all on good roads. Please be careful of wildlife as there is LOADS all over the place, especially Kangaroos.

You can use google/apple maps but be aware that phone reception is not always reliable. We recommend downloading AVENZA Maps as you can use it offline and navigate reliably (see AVENZA MAP info).

MILER CREW SCHEDULE

#0 Mt Zero Start - Drive to the start line to spectate or you can book the shuttle

All spectators at Mt Zero Start line must be through the shoe wash station and up on Flat Rock (past the start line) more than 30 minutes before the Start.

Be respectful of the area, and don't wander off any hard surfaces. It is a highly culturally significant area.

#1 GAR Trailhead - Optional crew spot

Be aware that there is limited parking. Please only park on the Left hand side of the road (south edge of the road) on either side of the GAR trailhead carpark. If you are early you may get a spot inside the car park. Please carpool if possible!

Be respectful of the area, and don't wander off any hard surfaces. It is a highly culturally significant area.

#3 Halls Gap - Great spot to crew your runner

This is the ideal spot to crew your runner. If you were only planning on seeing them once, it would be here.

#4 Rosea Car Park - Optional crew spot

You may choose to skip this aid station for crew to allow extra rest. However many crew still access this spot as it is only 15 minutes from Halls Gap.

#5 Borough Huts - Good Spot for crew

There is lots of parking here if you turn right after coming in from Grampians Rd.

We have booked out the northern half of the camp sites. If you want to bring a tent and sleep before and after your runner has come through, feel free to find a spot.

Please be respectful of any other campers at the southern end and steer clear.

Considering Mt William is now a NO CREW point, there is a good 8 - 12 hours before you will see your runner again at Jimmy Creek Rd. Please DO NOT drive straight to Jimmy Creek Rd and sleep. You need to either sleep/wait at Borough Huts or back in Halls Gap (10 min drive) before driving to Jimmy Creek Rd when your runner is within an hour of that Aid Station.

#7 Jimmy Creek Rd - Critical Crew Point

It is a very long way from #5 Borough Huts to #9 Griffin Fireline for your runner to go without seeing their crew. Perhaps that is a good time for you as a crew to take an extended break and relax. But most likely, most of you will want to be at Jimmy Creek to see your runner. See the Jimmy Creek info below for more info on Parking etc.

#9 Griffin Fireline - Access via Dunkeld ONLY

Griffin Fireline is a great spot to crew but there is limited parking and it is a highly significant cultural area. So please do not drive here and park on the side of the road. Also, do not wander off any hard packed surfaces.

You must drive to Dunkeld and catch the regular rotating Shuttle Bus which will leave from outside Sterling Place.

#10 Cassidys Gap Rd - Access via Shuttle ONLY

You must drive to Dunkeld and catch the regular rotating Shuttle Bus which will leave from outside Sterling Place. If you are coming from Griffin you can catch the shuttle directly from there.

#11 Bainggug Car Park - Access via Shuttle ONLY

You must drive to Dunkeld and catch the regular rotating Shuttle Bus which will leave from outside Sterling Place. If you are coming from Cassidys you can catch the shuttle directly from there.

#12 Dunkeld - FINISH line - most important spot to be?!!

Park anywhere in Dunkeld. Watch the tracker and wait anxiously for the celebration.

Sterling Place, Dunkeld

Crew Shuttle Point

14 Sterling St, Dunkeld VIC 3294

To access Griffin Fireline, Cassidys Gap Rd, and Bainggug Car Park Aid Stations you need to park at Sterling Place in Dunkeld and catch the Shuttle Bus which will be rotating every half hour or so. We have two 12 seater vans constantly doing the rounds between these points.

You can either come back to Dunkeld between each time you see your runner, or you can just simply get the shuttle from one Aid Station to the next.

We will be limiting the size of one runner's crew/spectators to three people. If you have a child seat and a kid that needs to access the aid stations you will be allowed to drive there. We will not give you an actual pass, but it will be evident when you have a child with you.

Mt William Rd is closed

to the public (2025)

Unfortunately Mt William Rd will not be reopened to the public in time for the event. This road has been closed since the fires of last summer, and has been delayed in reopening.

The condition of the road is worse than usual with leaf litter (from lack of cars using it), more potholes than normal, and critically there are no reflective white pickets to signal the side of the road. This is no big deal in good conditions, but Mt William Rd Aid Station will be the night time for the majority of Miler runners and the crew would be driving the road in the dark. If there is low cloud or rain, visibility and safety become a concern.

What does this mean?

SingleTrack Event Team and essential vehicles can still drive up the road to access and service the aid station and Stage Race Start/Finish line.

We have decided that the road is not in a good enough condition to allow runner's crew and spectators in the Miler and Stage Race to drive up there to crew. It will now be a NO CREW Aid Station.

Jimmy Creek Rd is now a crewed Aid Station

Due to the loss of Mt William Rd as a crew point, Parks Victoria have graciously allowed us to use Jimmy Creek Rd again as a crewed Aid Station. However, we will need to manage parking and time spent at Jimmy Creek Aid Station carefully.

Parking at Jimmy Creek Aid Station

Please drive to the Aid Station and slow down considerably when crossing the path of the runner's crossing. Drive past the Aid Station and park ONLY on the LEFT HAND SIDE (northern edge of the road). Drive down Jimmy Creek Rd until you see an available spot to park on the left. We cannot have cars parked on both sides of the road.

Arrival window at Jimmy Creek Rd

In order to reduce the congestion on Jimmy Creek Rd it is important that crew and spectators do not arrive more than an hour before their runner is due to arrive. Please do not dwell at the aid station for a long period of time. This will be self managed, so please be respectful of the rules.
